Dr. David L. Olson
Senior Technical Consultant, Integrated Test and Measurement (ITM)

In a career spanning more than 35 years, David has focused on design, development, testing and analysis with two multinational corporations: Honeywell Aerospace (formerly AlliedSignal) and Deere & Co. He brings a wide range of experience in analysis and product development to his role as technical consultant at Integrated Test and Measurement (ITM).

Most recently, while working at John Deere Construction & Forestry Division, David managed the Noise Group, the Machine Dynamics Group and the Instrumentation Group in servicing product design and product verification and also supported the company’s virtual prototyping activities.

He has led teams conducting many types of noise analysis – including experimental and empirical – as well as field durability simulation and test instrumentation development. Dave also worked in John Deere’s Product Engineering Center in the areas of stress, vibration and finite element testing, simulation and analysis.

At Honeywell Aerospace, he served as the manager of the Engineering Sciences Department, where he led a group of stress analysis engineers charged with improving Honeywell products and technology.

In that role, he managed structural stress analysis, dynamics analysis, thermal analysis, methods development and software support. He also served as engineering supervisor of the Wheel and Brake Stress Analysis Group while at Honeywell Aerospace, where he applied his knowledge of classical and empirical mechanics as well as finite element analysis.

David holds a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D. in Engineering from Iowa State University.
