Congratulations to Mark Yeager for obtaining Category III Vibration Analyst Certification.
Category III Vibration Analysts are qualified to establish, direct, and\or perform programs for condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines including spectral, waveform, and orbit analysis. Category III certified Vibration Analysts are qualified to perform minor corrective actions involving operating deflection shapes, single-plane balancing, and diagnostic testing.

Check out the article “Feeding the Next Generation of Product Development” in Machine Design magazine. In this article, ITM president Tim Carlier describes how engineers are collecting real-world data to get a true look at how their designs are used in the field, and how to design a better machine. By utilizing iTestSystem and its automation tools, test engineers can implement unattended field tests that continuously analyze and send data based on specific operating conditions. Armed with data from these tests, designers can better quantify and predict future performance and develop products that satisfy the complete range of actual customer usage.

We are pleased to announce that the NI-9203 current input module can now be used with iTestSystem and NI CompactDAQ.
The NI-9203 features 8 current inputs , 16-bit resolution, +/- 20 mA range, 200 kS/s maximum sample rate in the C Series form factor. This module is intended for high-performance control and monitoring applications. The NI-9203 uses multiplexed sampling and an SAR type ADC.
For advice about using the NI-9203 versus other current modules in iTestSystem monitoring applications or with custom cRIO RT and FPGA control applications contact Mark Yeager or Chase Petzinger.
As a part of our new ITM Live Demo series, we’re excited to release this video featuring our custom data acquisition and data logging solutions. During our 17 years in business, we’ve found that every test is a little bit different, especially in ruggedized environments. The best way to account for these custom problems is to create a custom solution for data collection.
Watch now to see as I demonstrate some of the features available with a custom DAQ and explain how this may be just the solution you’re looking for.
If you’re interested in learning more about how a custom DAQ solution built by ITM can help meet your specific testing needs, feel free to contact one of our test specialists by e-mail at info@itestsystem.com or phone at (844) 837-8797.
We are pleased to announce that the NI-9244 single ended voltage input module can now be used with iTestSystem and NI CompactDAQ. The NI-9244 features 3 voltage inputs plus 1 neutral input, 24-bit resolution, 400 Vrms L-N, 800 Vrms L-L, 50 kS/s/ch, in the C Series form factor. The wide measurement range (400Vrms L-N or 800Vrms L-L) makes it ideal for high-voltage measurement applications such as phasor measurements, power metering, power quality monitoring, industrial machinery, motor testing, and transient or harmonic analysis with high-speed (50kHz) simultaneous sampling.
For advice about using the NI-9244 in stand-a-lone power quality applications or cRIO power monitoring applications contact Mark Yeager.
On April 19th ITM was recognized as a finalist for the Cincinnati Business Courier Outstanding Green Innovation award. This award recognizes an innovative product or project with clear potential to transform overall energy and environmental performance. ITM’s President Tim Carlier was on hand to receive the finalist award on behalf of the development team that produced the innovative Sootblower Fouling Detection (SFD) technology.
ITM’s SFD technology helps energy producers generate power more efficiently by detecting energy sapping soot buildup in power and recovery boilers. More information about this technology is located @ iTestSystem.com/sfd.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists and thank you to the Cincinnati Business Courier for hosting this event.
Check out my article “Putting a HALT to Hazardous Hopper Maintenance” in the May 2018 edition of Power Magazine. This article describes a system for detecting dangerous plugging conditions inside ash hoppers. Ash hoppers are used in the power industry to collect hot ash from utility boilers. – Mark Yeager
